Pricing
How much does a website cost in the Hudson Valley?
A professional small-business website from Hudson Valley Web Design starts at $1,500 for our Launch package (up to 5 pages), $3,500 for Growth (up to 12 pages with a blog, advanced SEO and copywriting), and $7,500+ for e-commerce or custom builds. Ongoing care plans start at $99/month. Most local businesses land between $1,500 and $5,000.
Do you require a monthly contract?
No. Website projects are one-time fixed-price engagements. Care plans and SEO retainers are optional monthly services you can cancel anytime — you own your site regardless.
Process & timelines
How long does it take to build a website?
A typical 5–7 page small-business website goes live in about two to three weeks once we have your content. Larger sites, e-commerce stores, and custom web apps take four to eight weeks depending on scope. We give you a firm timeline before any work begins.
Do you write the content and provide images?
We can. Many clients need copywriting and visuals, so we offer professional copywriting, content strategy, and sourcing or creating imagery as part of Growth and Custom projects. If you have your own content, even better — we’ll shape it to convert.
Can you fix or improve my existing website?
Yes. We audit and improve sites on any platform — speeding them up, fixing SEO and accessibility issues, modernizing the design, or doing a full redesign with a careful, SEO-safe migration that preserves your existing search traffic.
SEO & AI search
Will my website actually rank on Google?
Ranking depends on your market and competition, but every site we build is engineered for it from day one: fast Core Web Vitals, clean structure, proper schema markup, and local SEO. We don’t promise overnight #1 rankings — anyone who does is being dishonest — but we build the strongest possible foundation and offer ongoing SEO to compound results.
What is AEO / GEO, and why does it matter?
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) are about getting your business recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude — not just ranked on Google. As more people ask AI for recommendations, being the cited source matters. We optimize structured data, entity clarity, and citable content so AI engines name you.
Technology & ownership
What platform do you build on? Is it WordPress?
We build mostly on modern frameworks like Astro and Next.js, with a headless CMS when you need to edit content yourself. These produce far faster, more secure, more SEO-friendly sites than WordPress or page builders like Wix and Squarespace. We can also work with WordPress or Shopify when it’s the right fit.
Do I own my website?
Yes — completely. You own the code, the content, the domain and the hosting account. We don’t lock you into a proprietary platform or hold your site hostage with mandatory fees. If you ever leave, you take everything with you.
Local
What areas of the Hudson Valley do you serve?
